The inspiration for this song; this is a response to someone actually talking behind my back.
We start by explaining my mother owns a 2 unit apartment building with unit upstairs and one down. My best friend rented the upstairs apartment and my mother had a tenant in the downstairs.
One morning my friend had his front door wide open and for whatever reason, the tenant downstairs had an issue with my mother, and my friend over heard the downstairs resident speaking badly about me. And that's where “Behind My Back” came from, it was my clap back to the actual conversation to let the person know I knew who they were and what exactly was said.
