A Step Forward…
This month, I am happy to announce that I have taken a step forward to something that I have been eluding for some time.
I have recently began to design some merchandise on my shop page. Two reasons that kept me from doing this sooner;
- Money
- Lack of Fan Support
Having no money to invest in design, development, and manufacturing products, and having no fan base or support, meant no demand for my supply.
Well things have changed; as I was rebuilding this website, I was given a tool that will allow me to possibly accomplish something; spite the two obstacles I mentioned above.
I am getting my feet wet with teaming up with a company called “Printful”; which helps me bypass my financial obstacle, to work on obstacle 2.
“Printful” is what I would call a print business, that allows you to upload or create a design for your own merchandise, create the product, process and ship the order for you.
Once the product design is complete, the merchandise is placed on my website shop page through a plugin interface. The plugin interface will post the merchandise on your shop page, notify you of orders, and more.
I have learned and come to understand that lack of demand isn’t reason to not have a supply.
Just to test the waters, I started with three items:
- Phone case for android

- Unisex Hoodie/T-Shirt
All three of these items, I feel can become signature by using images from my album releases, to become souvenir and collectible.
The unisex hoodie features my BeatMaka logo on the front and the artwork from my album “The New Hip-Hop”; while the phone case and the unisex t-shirt contains images from my album “Addicted”.
I put a lot of time in my decisions with which merchandise and the designs. I didn’t want it to look assembly line, and I want to make sense, make it personal, relevant, original, and collectible; that’s why for my hoodie, I choose a rust color, instead of white to contrast
and blend with the album image. And the same with the phone case and the t-shirts; I choose a white background to contrast with my “Addicted” album image.
Feel free to check out my shop page, and look out for new merchandise; like the iphone case, and other souvenir items.
