“Merry F.I.S.T.MAS” is my xmas E.P. contribution to music. Released October 1 2024, the project contains 5 savory but celebratory songs that embodies xmas as only I can do it.
My motivation for this project was inspired by “Mariah Carey’s” - “All I Wan’t 4 Christmas”. A timeless xmas classic, and I wanted to challenge myself to create a xmas song that could potentially be a xmas classic.
Long before the idea to create this project, I was given a track from a producer friend of mine “Def Defiant”, and I wrote “Mistletoe Ho” to that track. Having “Mistletoe Ho”, as a single, I had a motivation to create a song expressing “you’re never too old for xmas”.
I began to create some tracks before I wrote any lyrics, trying to embody xmas, but also be a hit. Once I finished producing my tracks, I choose the track I thought would be the hit, because of the idea I had for this track, which was “Not 2 Old 4 This”. With the beat and the idea I aimed to make it the hit, but the complete idea was not that hit I was aiming for; it gave me mainstream/crossover, but it wasn’t that one I envisioned.
When I hear “Mariah Carey’s” song, it wasn’t her vocal performance; it was the beat, and how she approached talking about xmas. Her approach subjugated herself in relation to xmas, instead of xmas being the core focus.
After recording “Not 2 Old 4 This”, I had to really think hard about an approach to speaking on xmas without making it about xmas. Once I found my approach; which was “Share with you how we celebrate xmas if you were invited to my house”, and “delivering my metaphors as a gift, and an invite to celebrate xmas with me”.

Since I’m on “My Gift 2 U”, let’s explore the album, and the other songs on this project.
- My Gift 2 U - (The song 'My Gift 2 U' by F.I.S.T. celebrates the joy and togetherness of the holiday season, emphasizing the importance of positivity, unity, and sharing gifts with loved ones. It reflects on the traditions of Christmas, highlighting the spirit of giving and creating lasting memories with family and friends.). Consider this as “My Gift 2 U”, as I deliver rich and detailed metaphors describing how xmas would be celebrated if you were to share xmas with me at my house, and it’s also an invite for you to listen in and celebrate xmas with this being “My Gift 2 U”. I wanted to create a track with an uptempo groove, but not too overly dressed with xmas, and lyrics that connect on a metaphoric level. The lyrics are metaphorically written to describe how xmas will be celebrated, and delivered vocally as an invitation, to celebrate xmas with me, and accept this invitation as “My Gift 2 U”.
- My invitation of celebrating xmas with me and the beat, makes “My Gift 2 U”, my Xmas Classic…
2. Not 2 Old 4 This - (The song 'Not 2 Old 4 This' by F.I.S.T. reflects on the joy and traditions associated with Christmas, emphasizing the importance of family, giving, and cherishing the blessings received. It conveys a message of staying young at heart, appreciating the gifts of life, and finding happiness in celebrating the holiday season with loved ones.). This is my declaration of not being too old to celebrate xmas. As a kid, I’ve always enjoyed and celebrated xmas. My mother gave me the most remembered xmas’ and I’m blessed to have had those memories. Not everyone can say this, but I’m speaking for those who have had the blessings of having fond xmas memories. As I got older, I have learned to appreciate and celebrate xmas differently. Having no children, I didn’t have the burdens of packages underneath the tree. I still give gifts to my friends and loved ones; so gifts and presents for xmas under the tree has never really stopped. But it’s not about the gifts, for me, xmas is the time of the year where society is most at peace. The world seems to be in this giving spirit, an underlying unity, support, and comraderie, having something in common; due to the season. This song is my validation, and approval of celebrating xmas, no matter the age.
3. Mistletoe Ho - (The song 'Mistletoe Ho' by F.I.S.T. humorously portrays Santa Claus as running a unique business where Christmas gifts are funded through unconventional means like selling weed and 'mistletoe pussy.' The lyrics playfully suggest that Santa's generosity on Christmas is financially supported by less conventional activities, adding a satirical twist to the traditional holiday narrative.). This song was recorded some years earlier, before the idea to create a xmas project was ever thought of. I received this track from a producer friend of mine “Def Defiant”. The track had that old school reggae sound and I rooted to the sexual lyric overtones within the reggae genre to keep some attachment to the track to accommodate the F.I.S.T. rap style, so I resorted to an erotic storytelling of my theories about the xmas holiday. Sexual explicit, and storytelling go hand in hand within the reggae music genre, and there wasn’t much that hasn’t already been said, so I came up with “Mistletoe Ho”. This song questions and theorizes how the institution of xmas works. I raise questions and suspicions about xmas; how is xmas afforded. I give theories on how I feel xmas works. My theory is Santa is selling drugs and pussy, pimping hoes, and using xmas to launder the money.
4. Naughty/Nice - (The song 'Naughty-Nice' by F.I.S.T. portrays a character who acts as a monitor of behavior, akin to Santa Claus, keeping track of people's actions to determine if they have been good or bad. The lyrics use the concept of a 'naughty or nice list' as a metaphor for evaluating one's actions and behavior, emphasizing the idea of accountability and consequences for one's deeds.). This is my have fun song embodying the naughty/nice attributes, associated with xmas. In this song, I am Santa’s advisor; while he’s working up north, I’m one of Santa’s helpers, and my only job is to determine if you have been naughty or nice.
5. Santa Baby! - (analysis). This is my twisted explicit interpretation of Santa’s true purpose for his xmas visit. I took portions of “Santa Baby”, ideas from “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”, and wrote an adulterated picture on Santa’s xmas eve visits.
